Bluestorm Ltd.

Marscape acts as curator, arts and business developer for the freeholder of the Grade II* listed Modernist building. It plans and manages its events; group tours; and architectural exhibitions; the commissioning of site-specific arts projects and performances; and has created, and manages, a forum of high-profile arts decision-makers and cultural gatekeepers, including architect Piers Gough, Conran & Partners and representation from the local and arts councils, that works to ensure the artistic credibility of artists involved and projects. Past projects have included:

  • ‘Murmuration’ by artist Ingrid Plum, an origami and film installation as part of Brighton Festival Fringe 2006
  • month-long artist in residence music project with Chris Dooks, producer of The South Bank Show and recording artist, with Jason Pegg of Clearlake
  • Brighton Festival Fringe 2005 photographic installation with Italian artist Gaby Cole
  • ‘Vive Moderne’, a day-long and multi-arts event to celebrate the end of the major works at Embassy Court, funded by commercial sponsorship and The Arts Council and attended by 5,000; Marscape acted as event producer and partners included Same Sky producing afternoon children’s and residents workshops on Brunswick Lawns, the Brighton City singers, commissioned to produce and perform a musical piece for the day, and The World Famous, commissioned to create a pyrotechnic extravaganza using the full façade of the building
  • an exhibition created with Conran & Partners, the appointed architects to Embassy Court, in place in the foyer of the building, detailing the architectural and social history of the building from 1936 to the present day
